  6. No_10ENV.DOC is a PageStream 2 document providing a tested method of
  7. printing perfect No. 10 Envelopes on the Deskjet family of printers.
  8.  
  9. Based on the type sizes used, the default template is intended mainly
  10. for personal letters. Use a more (boring) business-like font and size
  11. for business purposes.
  12.  
  13. You must use "Configure Printer" under the "Global" drop-down menu to
  14. set the printer for appropriate page size. Instructions as to how to
  15. set page size as well as priming the Deskjet for envelope printing is
  16. included in the bleed area BELOW the main document area. Show Full
  17. Page to see these instructions.

  19. ** Note **
  20.  
  21. The instructions box WILL NOT PRINT and can remain as is to allow
  22. helpful hints for others using this template.
  23.  
  24. ** Mechanical Note **
  25.  
  26. The Deskjet, upon loading an envelope, may wind up leaving the
  27. envelope slightly crooked. Lift the Deskjet's lid to see if the
  28. envelope is actually square to the pressure plate above it. Although
  29. this plate "floats" slightly, it is an accurate guage as to envelope
  30. alignment.

  32. If the envelope is NOT square, simple PUSH the side that protrudes
  33. too far forward BACK until it appears square to the pressure plate.
  34. At this point, print as usual (ALT P) in PageStream.
  35.  
  36. * You must LOAD THE ENVELOPE using the Deskjet's "ENVELOPE" button
  37.   PRIOR to printing for best success:
  38.      1. it guarantees 100% success.
  39.      2. it allows you to check alignment (see "Mechanical Note").
  40.  
  41. ** FONTS NOTE **
  42.  
  43. My font list is totally customized, with virtually NO possibility of
  44. having identical font numbering as exists on your system. If you have
  45. ANY problem loading this document, it means that you need to tidy up
  46. your font list using the "MANAGER" option in the FONT menu. With a
  47. properly set-up font list that has been saved as a DEFAULT,
  48. PageStream will replace my font with one of yours, or at least use
  49. your .12H (or other) preview mode screen font, then allowing you to
  50. change the font used in the document.

  52. ** USING CARDFILE **
  53.  
  54. In text mode, simple ERASE the appropriate text in either text block
  55. ("to" or "from") and select the "minus" option of the SEND command in
  56. Cardfile's MAIN MENU to instantly fill the text block with the address
  57. of your choice.
  58.  
  59. ** TESTING INFO **
  60.  
  61. This file has been used for some time, and very successfully on both
  62. a Mega ST and TT030, printing to a Deskjet 500C, in both black ink
  63. and color modes.
  64.  
  65. ** CAVEATS **
  66.  
  67. As with all things free, this is a USE AT YOUR OWN RISK file.
  68. However, about the worst thing that can happen is that you'll crash
  69. PageStream, but this is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY.
